Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop the less adhesive chewing gum on dental materials for denture wearers. The authors had experimented the adhesiveness of several kinds of chewing gum on tooth and dental materials according to masticatory time.
The obtained results were as follows:
1. The adhesiveness on acrylic resin for tooth and denture base was greater than on porcelain and chrome cobalt alloy in controlling plate-form chewing gum.
2. The adhesiveness on resin materials of controlling plate-form chewing gum was greater than the chewing gum for denture wearers.
3. The greater softening agent, the less adhesive on acrylic resin materials.
